<p><b>Gurugram, October 8, 2025</b> VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a Joint Venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors today announced an investment of ₹ 544 crores (about 576 million Swedish Krona) for the production and final assembly of the Volvo Group’s globally state-of-the-art 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). The greenfield factory will be established at Vikram Udyogpuri Integrated Industrial Township, near the historic city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The investment in AMT production is yet another milestone in the 18-year-old successful VECV JV between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. As the global manufacturing hub for Volvo Group’s 5 &amp; 8 Liter (MDEP) engines since 2013, VECV’s Pithampur factory has been a pioneer in<em> Making in India for the World.</em></p>
<p><strong>Sofia Frandberg, Chairperson, VE Commercial Vehicles and Senior Leader, Volvo Group</strong> proudly noted,<em> “This investment by VECV represents yet another win-win synergy with the Volvo Group and leverages the technical and industrial capabilities that have been built-up over the past 18 years. <p>On the occasion, <strong>Jens Holtinger, Executive Vice President Group Trucks Technology and Volvo Group Chief Technology Officer</strong> said,<em> “This new manufacturing hub at VECV is an excellent example of how the Volvo Group has leveraged partnerships to make our manufacturing supply chain more efficient. It is also a testament to the amount of trust we put in the competence of VECV. Over the past 18 years, VECV has become a core part of Volvo Group supply chain for critical components and aggregates, and we now write a new chapter in our successful relationship.”</em></p>
<p>Looking at the transformative potential of the AMT, <strong>Vinod Aggarwal, MD &amp; CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles</strong> said,<em> “As the Indian commercial vehicle industry moves towards higher capacity vehicles, Eicher truck customers and drivers will have access to Volvo Group’s globally leading AMT, which is proven to reduce driver fatigue and improve fuel economy, productivity and Uptime in demanding operations. The new AMT factory will be built to Volvo Group’s global standards and is very much aligned with the Government of India’s vision for Make in India. <p>The new AMT facility will have an initial capacity to produce up to 40,000 units p.a. with production and local content to be gradually ramped up in line with Volvo Group’s global processes and quality standards.</p>

VE Commercial Vehicles Announces Plans to Manufacture Volvo Group’s Industry-Leading Automated Manual Transmissions for India and Select Asia-Oceania Markets

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a Joint Venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors today announced an investment of ? 544 crores (about 576 million Swedish Krona) for the production and final assembly of the Volvo Group’s globally state-of-the-art 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). <p>VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) recorded sales of 7619 units in September 2025 as compared with 7609 units in September 2024, a growth of 0.1%. This includes 7352 units of the Eicher brand and 267 units of the Volvo brand.</p>
<p>The following are details for September 2025:</p>

<li>Eicher branded trucks &amp; buses recorded sales of 7352 units in September 2025 as compared with 7322 units in September 2024 representing growth of 0.4%.</li>
<li>In the domestic CV market, Eicher branded trucks &amp; buses have recorded sales of 6652 units in September 2025 as compared with 6847 units in September 2024, representing decline of 2.8%.</li>
<li>On the Exports front, VECV recorded sales of 700 units in September 2025 as compared with 475 units in September 2024, representing growth of 47.4%.</li>
<li>Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses recorded sales of 267 units in September 2025 as compared with 287 units in September 2024, representing a decline of 7.0%.</li>

<p><b>Sept. 29 2025: </b>TATA Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, and VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) today announced a landmark collaboration to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India, with a focus on the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of Small Commercial Vehicle.</p>
<p>Under this MoU, both companies will collaborate on multiple fronts to support truck and bus operators looking to introduce electric vehicles in their operations. While TATA Power will leverage its extensive EV charging infrastructure and expertise in providing customized charging solutions, VECV will contribute its domain expertise in energy efficiency to optimize energy usage in electric trucks, ensuring that the vehicles meet the specific needs of end-users and their applications. Together, they will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote the transition to electric mobility, enabling a cleaner, more sustainable future for India’s transport sector.</p>

<p>Tata Power has expanded its EV Charging network under the brand name of EZ Charge to over 1.5 lakhs+ home chargers, 5500+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, along with 1200+ E-bus charging points across 630+ cities and towns. Overall, Tata Power EZ charge has 4 lakhs+ registered customers. These chargers have been strategically deployed at diverse and accessible locations such as highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, bus and commercial vehicle depots, residential complexes, etc. This concerted effort has been instrumental in facilitating the exponential growth of electric mobility in India.</p>

<p>VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) recorded sales of 7167 units in August 2025 as compared with 6543 units in August 2024, a growth of 9.5%. This includes 6924 units of the Eicher brand and 243 units of the Volvo brand.</p>
<p>The following are details for August 2025:</p>

<li>Eicher branded trucks &amp; buses recorded sales of 6924 units in August 2025 as compared with 6283 units in August 2024 representing growth of 10.2%.</li>
<li>In the domestic CV market, Eicher branded trucks &amp; buses have recorded sales of 6331 units in August 2025 as compared with 6028 units in August 2024, representing growth of 5.0%.</li>
<li>On the Exports front, VECV recorded sales of 593 units in August 2025 as compared with 255 units in August 2024, representing growth of 132.5%.</li>
<li>Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses recorded sales of 243 units in August 2025 as compared with 260 units in August 2024, representing a decline of 6.5%.</li>
