VE Commercial Vehicles announces extension of full GST reduction benefit to customers
- Addresses needs of Eicher truck and bus customers as we jointly drive efficiency in logistics as envisaged in the PM Gati Shakti program
- GSO on Diesel, CNG and LNG range reduced from 28% to 18%
- Electric range continues to enjoy beneficial GST rate of 5%
New Delhi, September 10th, 2025: VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) today announced that it will pass on the complete benefit of the revised GST rates to customers. Coinciding with the auspicious start of Navratri, Eicher customers purchasing new vehicles from September 22, 2025, can enjoy lower acquisition costs on Eicher’s range of modern and fuel-efficient trucks and buses.
Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV, said, “We sincerely thank the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Finance Minister and the GST Council for this landmark decision to reduce GST on trucks and buses from 28% to 18%. This reform in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister provides timely relief after a period of slowing sales and rising input costs in the CV sector. Beyond immediate customer benefits, the macro-economic impact is equally significant—lower logistics costs in line with the PM Gati Shakti program, stronger consumer sentiment, and a predicted boost to GDP from heightened activity in logistics and allied industries.”
For truck operators, the GST cut will help ease cost pressures and stimulate demand in freight and logistics, while for buses it will encourage fleet modernisation by state transport corporations and private operators, improving public mobility. This festive gift from the government will enable faster adoption of safer, fuel-efficient, and modern Eicher vehicles—strengthening India’s automobile industry and supporting the India’s vision in its Amrit Kaal.
VECV customers can now enjoy benefits up to Rs. 6 lakhs (as per applicable GST rate reduction0 indicated below.
